Part of my decision process into deciding if the game should be in the entertainment or serious genre, was to create more ideas within each genre to compare.
Specifically I have created more developed serious game ideas, as I had created serious game ideas before but I’m unsure they had the right balance of fun and learning. So I decided to create more developed ideas that try to capture this balance. Therefore allowing me to then be able reflect upon these ideas and identify if indeed it would be possible to create both an engaging and informative game, and within my game research I found none in the serious genre that could.
